These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Bright (the "Service"), operated by Bright Worldwide, LLC ("Bright", "we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Overview

Bright is a cloud-based tool that helps you understand how you spend your time and who you spend it with. By connecting your Google account, you allow Bright to read certain Google Calendar and Google Contacts data to generate insights and send reminders.

By using Bright, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

To use Bright, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Connect your Google account using OAuth or another login method we provide.
  • Provide accurate information during onboarding.

You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your account.

3. Google OAuth Access

Bright uses Google OAuth to request permission to read:

  • Calendar event metadata (titles, attendees, timestamps)
  • Contact information (names, emails, phone numbers)

Bright does not:

  • See or store your Google password
  • Edit, delete, or write data to your Google account
  • Access emails or unrelated Google data

You may revoke Bright’s access at any time via your Google Account security settings.

4. What Bright Provides

Bright offers insights and reminders based on how you spend your time and who you spend it with. Features may evolve over time.

Because Bright is early-stage software, the Service is provided "as is" without guarantees of uptime or error-free operation.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service.
  • Use Bright for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or bypass Bright’s security or authentication.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

6. Communications

Bright sends daily emails or notifications as part of the Service. By signing up, you consent to receive these communications. You may unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.

7. Intellectual Property

Bright Worldwide, LLC owns all rights to the platform, branding, design, documentation, and content. You retain ownership of your personal data and any content you provide.

8. Termination

You may stop using Bright at any time. To delete your account, contact us at support@bright.io.

We may terminate your access with notice if required to protect our systems or comply with legal obligations.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Bright is provided without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accurate insights, error-free operation, or availability of the Service. You use Bright at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bright Worldwide, LLC is not liable for lost data, indirect damages, or losses resulting from your use of the Service.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the Service (currently $0).

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If changes are substantial, we will notify you via email or in-app.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
